KBC Commercial Employee Insurance

Why you should go for private-life accident insurance for your employees

If your employee attends a business lunch after work or has a lunch appointment with friends who also happen to be business partners, where do you draw the line if they have an accident? In some cases, they will be covered under the industrial accident insurance – but this is certainly not always the case.

Some of your employees may have a hard time determining whether the activities they engage in are part of their personal or their professional life and therefore need to be insured 24 hours a day. But your other employees certainly also benefit from our private-life accident insurance policy. All your employees can then be secure in the knowledge that they are insured against any accidents they become involved in.

Who is insured?

You can offer this additional protection to all employees in your company.

What is insured?

This insurance covers accidents in the insured's private lives. So, accidents to which the industrial accident legislation is applicable continue to be insured under industrial accident insurance. Specifically, we provide cover for the following:

The costs of medical care after an accident.

Compensation if an employee is temporarily unable to work.
Compensation if an employee is left permanently unable to work following an accident.
Compensation when others have to provide assistance.

Compensation for the employee’s family if the employee dies: funeral expenses; life-long annuity for the spouse and children.

What is NOT insured?

Ongevallenverzekering privéleven werknemers

The main exclusions are:

  • Profitable sports, including the required training
  • A number of competitive sports such as combat sports, motorised sports, skiing, skeleton and bobsleigh
  • Wilful acts or serious misconduct such as drunkenness.
