KBC applies the European calendar for interbank payments

KBC applies the European calendar for interbank payments

From 23 June 2017, KBC will apply the European calendar for processing interbank payments. What does this mean for you? From now on, we will process your transfers and transfer files every day except at weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) and on the following 6 days:

  • 1 January, New Year's day
  • Good Friday, Friday before Easter
  • Easter Monday
  • 1 May, Labour Day
  • 25 December, Christmas day
  • 26 December, Boxing day

In other words, this means that from now on you can count on KBC to process all your payments, payment files and interbank transactions on all the other Belgian public holidays.

We are talking about the following days:

  • Ascension Day
  • Whit Monday
  • 21 July, National Holiday
  • 15 August, Assumption
  • 1 November, All Saints’ Day
  • 11 November, Armistice Day

These changes apply to incoming and outgoing payments, via all channels (with the exception of paper bank transfers). The next Belgian public holiday on which you can conduct interbank transactions will be 21 July 2017.

Because the bank branches are closed on these Belgian public holidays and banking holidays, it is important that the payment files you submit can be automatically processed in full (properly signed, sufficient commission and the like).
