Travel cancellation insurance included

There's always a chance you can’t go on holiday or have to interrupt it because of troubles at home such as a member of your family being admitted to hospital. This insurance covers you against cancellation and/or early-return costs relating to any personal trips that you pay for using a KBC payment method. You are covered for claims of up to 6,000 euros.

What is not insured?

  • Cancellations or interruptions due to non-stable medical disorders or injuries that already existed when the trip was booked.
  • Claims that are the result of an excessive use of alcohol or medication or drugs, which were not prescribed by a doctor.

Online purchase protection

This cover provides you with additional protection for online purchases in the EU or US. If the refrigerator you buy online is damaged on delivery or the wrong product is delivered and the supplier refuses to accept responsibility, we'll make sure that you get your money back.

Extra protection for what you buy on your card

  • Extended warranty: This cover adds a further two years to the statutory warranty period.
  • Purchase protection: This cover protects your purchases against accidental damage and aggravated theft (involving violence or forced entry) for up to 90 days after purchase. If you buy an expensive jumper and tear the sleeve a week later on a door handle, that’s covered too.

Spread your repayments over time

Decide how much you repay and how and when with a KBC Gold Flex Credit Card. If you buy something with this card, you have two ways to repay what you've spent.

  • Monthly: you can repay the full balance once a month by direct debit, so you don’t pay any interest.
  • Staggered repayments: you pay off 5.6% of the amount due each month, and thus spread out your repayments. You can pay off the remaining balance immediately if you wish, but you can also defer repayment. You only pay interest for the period and on the amount for which you postpone the repayment.

Financial Protection Insurance

You can add on our optional financial protection insurance for a small amount each year to cover you:

  • if your card is used fraudulently after being lost or stolen
  • if you die (any outstanding balance at time of death will be covered)
  • if you are unable to work for more than two months as a result of illness or an accident (your minimum repayments will be reimbursed whilst you are incapable of working)

It does not apply, for instance

  • if the work disability is the result of drug use or drunkenness
  • if, in the case of financial damage due to credit card upon theft or loss of the card, the policyholder reports the incident (via Card Stop) more than 24 hours after the discovery of the theft or loss of the card

  • You can submit a claim under the insurance as long as your credit card is active and you have paid the card fee. The insurance ends automatically when the contract between the KBC Bank NV and the insurer is cancelled.
  • Belgian law applies to all insurance.

  • You must have signed up for the insurance to be able to make a claim. Signing up for the insurance is free of charge, except in the case of Financial Protection Insurance.

KBC Gold Flex Credit Card can be used to make payment or as a credit facility. When used as a means of payment, the outstanding balance must be repaid before the fifth calendar day of the month following receipt of the monthly billing statement (in which case, no debit interest will be due); when used as a credit facility, a minimum amount must be repaid each month (in which case, debit interest will be due). The credit can be drawn down again after repayment.

* You've got a KBC Gold Flex Credit Card with a standard credit amount of 5,000 euros.
* The applicable credit limit is used immediately and in full to pay a retailer.
* The variable debit interest rate is 9,65%.
* The credit has a term of one year.
* The charges for the compulsory credit card are 55 euros.
* The credit amount is repaid in equal monthly instalments at the end of each period.
* Debit interest is paid at the same time as the monthly repayments of principal.
