KBC ALM manager - Insurance

Brussel - onbepaalde duur - voltijds

Wat houdt deze vacature in?

Group Treasury steers the treasury activities of all bank and insurance subsidiaries of KBC Group. The treasury activities cover several domains:

  • Asset and liability management – managing the investment durations and asset mix of the investment portfolios to optimize NII;
  • Management of funding and liquidity
  • Management of the P&L volatility and capital ratios, via the usage of hedge accounting techniques and accounting classifications.

Based upon its activities, Treasury offers an unique opportunity to work in an international context and to see the ‘hidden engine’ of bank & insurance and to get a helicopter view of most activities in the group. The vacant position is situated within the ALM Insurance department, a subteam of 4 people who are working for KBC Insurance.

Within Group Treasury, ALM Insurance is responsible for:

  • the integrated balance sheet management for the Insurance business, managing the gap between assets (investments) and the liabilities stemming from the insurance products. ALM insurance defines the investment strategy and frameworks. Currently the investment strategy consists of fixed income (sovereign bonds, corporate bonds, direct credits, mortgages), equity & real estate. The main front office tasks are outsourced to KBC AM and real estate department.
  • monitoring the cash and liquidity position of the insurer and manage the accounting volatility;
  • providing support in relevant capital management decisions.

Group Treasury wants to be prepared for the future challenges. The fast changing business requirements, the increasing demands for regulatory and internal reporting (for example, the new IFRS 17 legislation), need to be captured and translated into the right investment strategies for the different insurance products.
