If you have applied for a new KBC bank, credit or prepaid card, it will be sent to your home address. This means that you no longer need to drop by your KBC branch to pick it up in person. And you can get your new PIN by text message.

Text your personal combination to 2446. This combination comprises your date of birth (in the format: ddmmyyyy) and the four digits appearing in the letter accompanying your payment card. So, your text message should only contain 12 digits with no added words, spaces, digits or full stops.We will then text you the PIN required for activating your card. You can change the PIN afterwards again at any ATM. For security reasons, delete the message containing your PIN as quickly as possible.

Don't have a mobile phone or prefer not to use your mobile number for this purpose?

In that case, clearly indicate when applying for your card that you want to collect it in person from your KBC branch. Once you have received your card, you can choose your own PIN at a KBC-Matic ATM.

Your new payment card has been posted to you. This card has a new PIN, which will be texted to you after you have sent us a text message. The instructions for this are in the letter accompanying your new card. For security reasons, it is important that you use the mobile phone number recorded in our databases. You informed us of this number at the time you applied for your new card, or it was already known to us.

You have now received your new payment card, but have still not retrieved your PIN. The instructions for this are in the letter accompanying your new card. For security reasons, you must retrieve your PIN before the date given in the text message. If you are unable to do so, contact KBC Live.


KBC info: Your PIN is [PIN]. You can change the PIN at any ATM. Please note: Be sure to delete this text message to prevent improper use.

You can change your PIN at any ATM, replacing it with one that is easier to remember. Avoid using an obvious PIN, such as your date of birth or telephone number. For security reasons, delete the text message containing your PIN as quickly as possible.


KBC info: You have already sent a text message to retrieve your PIN. Your request is being processed. You will receive your PIN soon. 

Your text message containing your personal combination is currently being processed. You will soon receive your new PIN by text message.

For security reasons, a confirmation text message will be sent to you within 2 hours of you receiving the text message containing the PIN. This helps us prevent someone else from retrieving the PIN. Don’t forget to delete the text message containing the PIN to prevent fraudulent use.

We have sent you your new payment card by post, but you have failed to retrieve your PIN within the set timeframe. For security reasons, you must retrieve it within a week. However, as that can no longer be done by text message, please get in touch with your KBC Bank branch. A member of staff there can arrange for you to choose a new PIN at a KBC-Matic ATM or for a new one to be posted to your home address.

To receive your PIN by text message, you have to text your personal combination to 2446. This combination comprises your date of birth (in the format: ddmmjjjj) plus the four digits appearing in the letter accompanying your new payment card. Therefore, your text message will be made up of 12 digits. Do not add any words, spaces, extra digits or full stops to your text message.


KBC info: You texted an incorrect combination for the third time. You have no more attempts. Drop by your branch to retrieve your PIN.

You have sent an incorrect password three times. For security reasons, you can no longer retrieve your PIN by text message. Please contact your KBC Bank branch. A member of staff there can arrange for you to choose a new PIN at a KBC-Matic ATM or for a new one to be posted to your home address.


KBC info: Due to technical difficulties the text message with your PIN could not be sent. Please try again. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Due to internal problems, you cannot retrieve your PIN using your mobile phone. Please contact your KBC Bank branch. A member of staff there can arrange for you to choose a new PIN at a KBC-Matic ATM or for a new one to be posted to your home address.


KBC info: The PIN for your new card has already been retrieved. Do you want a new PIN? Then drop by your branch.

For security reasons, you may only retrieve your PIN once per card using your mobile phone. If you end up requiring a new PIN because you’ve forgotten your old one, please get in touch with your KBC Bank branch.
