Meet the KBC IT team
Our passionate team of some 2500 IT colleagues in Belgium and Central and Eastern Europe spend every day working on digital and technological innovations, often based on data and artificial intelligence, such as KBC Mobile, Kate and the Kate Coin.
Connecting people and continuous talent development are key priorities at KBC. This is reflected in the many initiatives we undertake – inspiration days, innovathons and hackathons, to name a few – to ensure that our employees keep up with the latest trends. Our initiatives further include ‘womentoring’ and woman walks that encourage you to develop your talents based on your own personality.
At the Visions of the Future event, we’ll put you in touch with recent starters and trainees from our IT and Innovation department who are excited to share their career journeys and experiences with you.
Ghent’s Wintercircus
What a magical location! Built in 1894, this historic circus arena and former car garage now serves as a vibrant meeting place and hub for start-ups and tech companies. The grounds also house a concert hall, foyer and auditorium. The former stables have been transformed into meeting rooms. And let’s not forget the cafe and restaurant with stunning views of the Ghent skyline. Definitely worth a visit!
Wintercircus is located right in the centre of Ghent and is easy to reach.
“I was fortunate enough to attend the KBC IT event in the past two years – what an amazing experience! 😊 I have great memories of it from when I was in my final year and after graduation. Deciding what to do next can be quite a challenge. After attending the event, I felt grateful for the support I received from the IT professionals, that it’s okay not to have your whole career mapped out and that everyone faces the same challenges at some point. I can recommend this event to anyone looking to connect with inspiring women in tech and IT and to learn from their experiences and stories.”
Figen Kirkgoz, functional analyst
Studies have revealed that a more equal representation of women and men in leadership roles significantly benefits companies. I am proud of our continuous efforts at KBC to recruit more women in IT, striving towards a 50% female workforce. But we’re not there yet: women who progress to higher positions are still a minority. (…) This is not about excluding men; it is about acknowledging the unique challenges women often face. At KBC, we believe in creating an inclusive environment where every individual’s unique strengths and talents are embraced.”
