What does this job entail?

At KBC Securities, the investment bank within the KBC Group, we work closely in various teams to ensure that equity & bond transactions are executed successfully. As a subsidiary of KBC Bank NV, we offer an interesting and varied range of activities such as:

  • DECM Origination (Corporate Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Syndication & Debt Placement)
  • Specialised finance (Management Buyouts, Leveraged Finance/Acquisition Finance, Project Finance, Export Finance)
  • Dealing Room Activities (Sales, Trading, Research)

As Equity & Bond Syndicate Desk employee, you will liaise between the issuer and the investors. You consider questions such as ‘Where could we best do a deal?’, ‘What is the issuer’s growth strategy, and how can we support them?’, ‘How do their existing shareholders view the company?’, ‘What are investors interested in and at what prices?’

Together with the head of your department, you will focus on origination on the syndication side of both equity and bond transactions. For this, you will have the support of a strong sales team to maximise placement opportunities. You will use your expertise to successfully place DCM (Debt Capital Markets) and ECM (Equity Capital Markets) issues, working closely with the origination and sales teams. You can expect a challenging, commercial role in which you can make your mark on the further expansion of our syndication desk.

What do we expect from you?

  • The origination teams and issuers count on you to provide them with insights on the equity and bond markets.
  • You will work from our trading room and liaise closely with colleagues there. So, you will be well-informed of trends and issues in the market and in close contact with the investors.
  • You will keep track of which investors are interested in which companies and have previously participated in our deals.
  • You will propose pricing, allocation strategies and draw up lists of investors to target.
  • You will collaborate and coordinate with other banks involved in a joint equity or bond issue (joint book-run deals).
  • You will also meet regularly with issuers and selected investors to keep abreast of developments.

Your key strengths?
