What does this job entail?
Building modern secure-access architecture from scratch is a challenge that requires teamwork. As Senior Zscaler Engineer (ZIA, ZPA & ZTNA) in our team you will play a key role in the design, implementation and optimisation of our new secure-access environment.
You will work with Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) to ensure that users have secure, policy-based access to online and internal applications. You will therefore be shaping our zero-trust Network Access (ZTNA) model from the foundations upwards.
You will work closely with ICT architects, product owners and application teams. Together you will ensure that new services are connected quickly, that access rules are clearly defined, and that everything is seamlessly and securely integrated with our hybrid environment.
In addition, you will contribute to automation and consistency through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to standardise implementations and make them scalable.
What do we expect from you?
- You will design, implement and maintain the Zscaler ZIA, ZPA and ZTNA infrastructure for the whole organisation.
- Together with the Product Owner, you will translate business needs to technical solutions which meet all the requirements regarding security and compliance.
- You will manage internal application onboarding on the Zscaler platform, guaranteeing secure and reliable access.
- Together with the IT security and IT architecture teams, you will define and enforce a Zero-Trust policy for access rights.
- Using IaC tools such as Ansible and Terraform, you will contribute to the automation and scalability of infrastructure rollouts.
- You will troubleshoot complex connectivity and access issues in the cloud and on-premises.
- You will liaise with vendors regarding solution design, coordinate the roadmap with them, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Documenting configurations, access flows and operational procedures is also part of your role, and you take this responsibility seriously.
- You will share your knowledge with your team members and coach them.
Your key strengths?
- You have a Bachelor's or Master's in IT, cybersecurity or similar domain.
- Thanks to your training or previous experience, you have hands-on expertise and/or thorough knowledge of:
- secure application design;
- Zscaler ZIA and ZPA;
- networks and network security;
- zero-trust architecture;
- identity-based access control;
- In addition, you are familiar with cloud and hybrid environments, (Azure and on-premises data centres).
- Experience with IaC tools such as Ansible and Terraform or with scripting in Python and Bash, is certainly welcome, but not essential.
- You communicate convincingly in Dutch and English, both when speaking and in writing.
