What does this job entail?
The Global Equities team at KBC Securities supports the equity strategy team and the portfolio managers of KBC Private Banking with equity research, investment strategy, and portfolio construction insights. We combine in-depth fundamental analysis with a catalyst-driven approach. Colleagues rely on our advice on global equities across sectors such as healthcare, industrials, technology, consumer goods, defense, and aerospace.
As a Buy-side Equity Analyst, you support fundamental equity research within a buy-side investment team. You provide insights, build and maintain financial models—an essential responsibility where clear communication with stakeholders and investment committees is key. Depending on your background, you will focus either on the consumer sector (Consumer Staples/Discretionary) or on multiple sectors.
What do we expect from you?
- You originate and evaluate long equity ideas.
- You maintain active coverage lists (generalist and consumer sector), including watchlists, tracking investment theses, and continuously updating conviction levels and risk framing.
- You conduct in-depth sector analyses.
- You prepare for and lead discussions following quarterly earnings releases. To do so, you monitor company news, macroeconomic developments, and sector dynamics.
- Investment committees rely on you for high-quality investment memoranda.
- Together with your colleagues, you optimize research templates, data processes, and best practices.
Your key strengths?
- You hold a master’s degree and have at least 3 years of experience as a buy-side analyst, sell-side analyst, or portfolio manager.
- You have demonstrable experience in:
- equity research supporting investment decision-making;
- generating investment ideas within the consumer sector (Consumer Staples and/or Discretionary) or similar;
- generating alpha across quarters
- You have a strong command of Bloomberg. Ideally, you also have some knowledge of programming or automation (Python, VBA, SQL, Power BI).
- You communicate effectively in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is a plus.
What can we offer you?
- You can count on excellent onboarding, strong collegiality, and a pleasant working atmosphere.
- Throughout your career at KBC, we actively encourage your personal and professional development. You can follow training courses to further develop both your hard and soft skills.
- We value team cohesion highly, which is why you work at least one day per week at the same physical location as your direct colleagues.
- Flexible working hours help you balance your professional and private life.
- We offer a permanent contract and a competitive salary package supplemented with fringe benefits. Sounds familiar? Of course—it’s in every job posting. What sets KBC apart is its extensive flexible benefits package. Too extensive to outline here, but we would be happy to discuss the different benefits—big and small—during your interview.
Can you help us make the difference?
