What does this job entail?
At KBC, we work according to the ‘Scaled Agile’ methodology. Teams are a mix of business and IT colleagues working from multiple locations. Credit Risk - the agile release train that you would join - consists of a group of teams that work together on systems for credit risk calculations and reporting. We keep the systems up and running and compliant with regulations.
The IT systems we manage in our team serve 2 important processes:
- credit origination for corporate credits;
- calculation of probability of default (PD).
As Application Manager, you will be handling operational and maintenance related activities in order to ensure proper functioning of the application. You will be responsible for change implementations which are required for improvements and building new features of the application.
Expect an exciting role, in which you will closely collaborate with the colleagues of Corporate Banking, Policy and Credit risk.
What do we expect from you?
- You gain a good knowledge of the systems in your domain in order to take up responsibility for the IT applications and ensure successful business and IT processes.
- You are involved in all steps of the software lifecycle: from gathering requirements and working out improvements to testing implementations.
- Users rely on you for support and clear communication on changes.
- You are the contact person concerning our applications for colleagues in the corporate banking branches and other internal stakeholders of KBC.
Your key strengths?

- With a bachelor or master’s degree in an economical area you are perfectly equipped to make a smooth start.
- An earlier work experience in an application management environment and/or credit management is considered as a plus.
- You look forward to contributing to different contexts of projects and taking ownership. Achieving goals together with others gives you energy.
- You are eager to learn and willing to regularly build up knowledge of (new) systems, processes and applications.
- You work accurately and efficiently.
- You communicate effectively in English (Dutch is a plus), both orally and in writing. You succeed, for example, in communicating ideas in a structured and clear manner.
- You work fluently with Excel and can write SQL statements. Experience with SAS (or a similar tool) is a plus.
What can we offer you?
- You’re assured of an excellent onboarding and a pleasant, collegial work atmosphere.
- Across your entire career at KBC, we encourage you to grow as a person and as a professional. You can follow training courses in which you further sharpen your hard and soft skills.
- Your workplace is easily accessible by public transport. You’re also welcome to partly work from home or from one of our other offices.
- Flexible work hours help you to balance your work and your private life.
- We offer you a permanent contract and a competitive salary, supplemented by extra-legal benefits. Sounds familiar? Of course. It’s what you read in every job description. At KBC, we make a difference with our extended flex package. It’s too extensive to go into details here. However, we will happily discuss the various benefits—large and small—at your interview.
Can you help us make the difference?
It is a pleasant working environment, with a warm welcome for new colleagues. My colleagues helped me to learn quickly and start working with the necessary dose of fun. The challenging work is an incentive to continuously learn and develop skills.
