Forgotten your PIN or need to unblock your card?
Having your card blocked because you entered the wrong PIN three times can happen to the best of us. Read on to find out what to do if you forget your PIN, if you want to change it or if you need to unblock your payment card. You’ll cut out the hassle and be able to start using your cards again wherever you are.
Forgotten your PIN
- Go to ‘My KBC’, scroll to ‘Means of payment’ and select your debit card
- Tap ‘Manage PIN’ and then ‘Choose a new PIN’
- Follow the instructions
- Choose a new PIN at one of our self-service terminals within four hours
Tip: As you only have a limited amount of time to complete step 4, we recommend that you visit a KBC branch first (you can find where our branches are located by opening KBC Mobile and going to ‘My KBC’ > ‘Your contacts’ > ‘All contacts’ > ‘Other useful services’ > ‘Find a branch near you’). Just follow the above instructions when you get to the branch.
- Go to ‘My KBC’, scroll to ‘Means of payment’ and select your credit card
- Tap the 3 dots at the top right and then ‘Manage PIN’
- Follow the instructions
- Choose a new PIN at one of our self-service terminals
- Log in to KBC Mobile
- Tap the Kate icon at the top right of your screen and type ‘forgot PIN’
- Kate will help you set your new PIN
We’ll make sure you can choose a new PIN at one of our self-service terminal or that a new one is posted to your home address.

If you’ve forgotten or want to change your PIN or you’d like to unblock or replace your card, just ask Kate, your digital assistant in KBC Mobile.
Changing your PIN
You can change your payment card’s PIN at an ATM in Belgium, or you can ask Kate.
- Log in to KBC Mobile
- Tap the Kate icon at the top right of your screen
- Type ‘change card PIN’
- Select the card whose PIN has to be changed
- You have four hours to set your new pin at a KBC self-service terminal
Unblocking a payment card after entering the wrong PIN three times in a row
- Log in to KBC Mobile
- Tap ‘My KBC’
- Go to ‘My KBC’, scroll to ‘Means of payment’ and select your blocked card
- Tap ‘Manage PIN’
- Select ‘Unblock PIN and online banking access’ and follow the instructions
If you’ve unblocked your card in KBC Mobile, make sure that the first time you use your card again it is in a high-street shop or at an ATM. Your card will work again online with your chosen PIN after you’ve withdrawn some cash or paid in a shop.

Unblocking your payment card using KBC Mobile after your card has been blocked for online use
If you get a message notifying you that your card has been blocked for online use, it means you’ve entered the wrong PIN three times in a row when logging in. You can continue using your card in high-street shops or at payment terminals if it has been blocked for online use.
- Log in to KBC Mobile
- Tap ‘My KBC’
- Go to ‘My KBC’, scroll to ‘Means of payment’ and select your blocked card
- Tap ‘Manage PIN’
- Tap ‘Unblock PIN and online banking access’
- Follow the instructions
- Log in to KBC Mobile
- Tap ‘My KBC’
- Go to ‘My KBC’, scroll to ‘Means of payment’ and select your blocked card
- Tap the three dots at the top right
- Tap ‘Manage PIN’
- Tap ‘Unblock PIN and online banking access’
- Follow the instructions
- Log in to KBC Mobile
- Tap Kate at the top right of your screen
- Type ‘unblock card’
- Kate will help you unblock the card in question
Why is your payment card blocked?
One of our staff can unblock or cancel your card, depending on the reason it was blocked.
KBC will block your payment card if:
- You enter the wrong PIN three times in a row
- You left your payment card in an ATM or POS terminal
- The current account linked to your card has been overdrawn for too long
- The customer relationship between you and KBC has been terminated
