Your payment card’s settings

There’s nothing more annoying than trying to pay somewhere and suddenly discovering that you can’t because a setting on your card isn’t right. Fortunately, we’re here to help you avoid such a situation by showing you how to change your card settings on this page.

Changing card limits

You can easily change the limits for your debit card or credit card in KBC Mobile or KBC Touch. Any change you make takes effect right away.

Increase or decrease your card limits in KBC Mobile, KBC Touch or at your KBC branch. Your new limits take effect immediately, giving you instant access to the adjusted amounts. Cash withdrawals exceeding 650 euros per day or 2,500 euros per week are only possible at our ATMs. Minors are subject to different card limits than adults.

  1. Log in to KBC Mobile
  2. Tap the Kate icon at the top right of your screen
  3. Type ‘change card limit

You can also change your credit card limits at any time:

  • You can increase your monthly limit temporarily (e.g., for a holiday or a major purchase) twice a year for a maximum of 30 days.
  • You can adjust your spending limit within your maximum limit as many times as you like.
  • You can request a permanent higher monthly limit using KBC Mobile.

International card use

You can easily set your payment card for use in Europe only or outside Europe too by requesting a temporary exception from the standard region in KBC Mobile.

You should temporarily activate your debit card for worldwide use in KBC Touch or KBC Mobile. Of course, you can always get assistance by contacting your KBC branch or calling KBC Live.

  1. Log in to KBC Mobile
  2. Tap the Kate icon at the top right of your screen
  3. Type ‘use card abroad

Paying online

You can use KBC Touch or the KBC Mobile app to enable or disable your card for paying online.

  1. Log in to KBC Mobile
  2. Tap ‘My KBC’ at the bottom of the screen
  3. Scroll to ‘Means of payment’
  4. Select the card to be activated
  5. Go to ‘Settings’ and indicate whether paying online is permitted or not
  1. Log in to KBC Mobile
  2. Tap ‘My KBC’
  3. Scroll to ‘Means of payment’ and select your credit card or prepaid card
  4. Tap the three dots at the top right
  5. Go to ‘Pay online’ and activate or deactivate this feature by swiping right or left

Paying by contactless

If you also want to be able to pay at the till without having to insert your card into the payment terminal, just activate the contactless payment feature in KBC Mobile.
