When do you need foreign currency?

Whether or not you need foreign currency depends on your destination. You can only pay with the euro within the euro area. Remember that not all of Europe belongs to it. For instance, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland and many other European countries are not part of the euro area. That means you will need foreign currency if you intend to pay for things in cash in those countries.

Ordering foreign currency at KBC

Online and free of charge: the ultimate combination for KBC clients. Your foreign banknotes will be available for collection from a KBC branch near you after roughly three banking days.
They may even arrive earlier: you can see the estimated delivery date in KBC Mobile and KBC Touch. Be sure, then, to check when the branch is open or make an appointment.
Pressed for time to pick up your foreign currency straightaway? Don't worry, KBC will keep it in the branch for seven days.

How do you pay for your order?

You can pay from the KBC Current Account of your choice. Once KBC has prepared your order for dispatch to the bank branch, the corresponding amount of euros will be automatically debited from your current account. Payment cannot be made from a savings account.
