FAQs about MyHome
If you want to find out more about MyHome in KBC Mobile, you’ll get answers to all your practical questions here.
Why am I receiving certain notifications?
We will send you notifications to share interesting information with you about the home, renovating and green energy.
What's the difference between MyHome and MyMobility?
- MyHome is the place to go for everything to do with your home – from buying your new home to financing the purchase and taking out insurance. If you’re planning renovation work, MyHome will help you work out your costs and request quotes.
- MyMobility gives you an overview of all mobility solutions, such as car loans, bicycle leasing and mobility budgets. If you’re looking for a new car, you’ll find a wide range of new and second-hand cars on MyMobility.
How do I add a property to MyHome?
Before you get started with MyHome, you need to answer a few questions. At this stage, you first check that we have the correct address of your property. You can change it or add an additional property. If you haven’t done this, you can always edit the details of your house or flat at the top of the overview screen.
Are there any renovation grants?
You can apply for grants and subsidies from the federal government or Flemish regional government for renovating your home or making it energy-efficient. Be sure to check if you’re eligible for this support.
Can I monitor my electricity and gas consumption?
Yes, you can link your digital meter to MyHome by tapping ‘View’ in your home’s details at the top of the screen. You will normally see ‘Energy insights’, which is where you add your EAN code and your home address. Once you have gone through these steps, you can keep an eye on your electricity and gas consumption. You will receive insights based on your consumption. KBC works with Eliq to provide this information.
What happens when I tap ‘number of properties found’?
If you want to see all properties matching your criteria, you can tap ‘number of properties found’. You will then be taken automatically to Immoscoop where you will see a list of all the properties we have found for you. You don't need to fill in your wish list again here, unless you want to change them.
How does Immoscoop know what my search criteria are?
The first time you are referred to Immoscoop, a shared profile is created that enables us to provide you with a personalised user experience. The next time you open MyHome, you will see properties from your last saved search in Immoscoop. This means you always get to see new properties on both platforms.
Why can I borrow only 90% of the purchase price?
The National Bank of Belgium (NBB) has a few rules that apply for all Belgian banks in order to keep financial risks as low as possible. That’s why we ask you to pay at least 10% of the purchase price yourself. In specific cases, you can borrow the full amount. You can find out more about this arrangement at your bank branch.
What does the maximum loan amount and minimum own financial input mean?
- Maximum loan amount: 90% of the purchase price. This means that if you buy a home for 300 000 euros, you can borrow a maximum of 270 000 as standard. You have to pay the remaining 30 000 euros yourself. Some customers can borrow 100% of the purchase price. You can find out more about this arrangement at your bank branch.
- Minimum own financial input: 10% of the purchase price plus legal fees (deed of purchase, registration duties, collateral, loan origination fee, etc.).
Remember, borrowing money also costs money.
