What is a current account?

A current account is used for your day-to-day banking. It is usually the account into which money is paid (such as your salary). It is also the account your debit card is linked to, enabling you to pay online or in-store and withdraw cash from ATMs.

Your current account is therefore used to receive and spend money, while your savings account is for putting money aside.
