Working out and/or applying for a mortgage loan

You can calculate a mortgage loan to:

  • Buy a home
  • Buy a home and finance renovations
  • Renovate your home
  • Buy land
  • Realise your building plans

You can't calculate a mortgage loan for a property to be used professionally or for one located abroad.

  • Pay slips
  • Purchase agreement
  • Quotes for your planned renovations
  • Energy performance certificate for the property you want to buy and/or renovate

Any individual aged 18 or over who permanently resides in Belgium. Depending on your civil status, you can do this alone (whether you're single or de facto cohabiting) or with your partner (whether you're married or officially living with someone).

If you’re legally separated, you can’t apply on your own.

All borrowers specified in the application must sign the contract.

Drawing down a mortgage loan

  • Log in to KBC Mobile
  • Tap ‘My KBC’
  • Scroll to 'Loans'
  • Tap your home loan
  • Tap ‘Go to drawdowns’

‘Go to drawdowns’ appears only if there is anything on your loan left to be drawn down.

Any borrower involved in the home loan can draw down an amount.

Home insurance (KBC Home Insurance)

Home insurance protects you from the financial risks associated with damage caused to your home and its contents by fire, water, natural disasters, etc.

Home insurance isn’t required by law, but it’s advisable to insure your home and its contents against damage. Anyone can take out home insurance, regardless of whether they own, rent or rent out the property or whether it’s their main residence or a second home. 

  • Open KBC Mobile and log in
  • Tap ‘Offer’, scroll to ‘KBC products’, tap the ‘Insurance’ tile and then ‘Home insurance’
  • Open KBC Mobile and log in
  • Tap ‘My KBC’ and scroll to ‘Insurance’
  • Tap your home insurance to file a new claim

You can also claim through your KBC Insurance agent. If you can’t reach them or you need urgent assistance with a claim, you can contact our call centre on +32 (0) 16 24 24 24 at any time.

Mortgage protection cover

When you calculate a mortgage loan with us using KBC Mobile, you can also indicate that you’re interested in taking out mortgage protection cover in the form of our loan balance insurance and work that out as well.

Home assistance

KBC Home Assistance is insurance providing a home response service in the event of serious and unexpected problems in your home.

Just call us and we’ll arrange everything. Even at night or the weekend, when it’s even harder to find available, affordable repair services yourself. We'll send out a repairer. You don't have to find anyone yourself.

Anyone can take out this cover, even if they don’t have home insurance with KBC.

The insurance is intended for a home where you live or that you use as additional accommodation, as long as it’s only for personal use. We don’t cover property owned to let.

  3. Read the information, specify the home you want to insure and indicate the account to use to pay your premiums
