Save money and energy

KBC Energy Loan

If you’re investing at least 50% of your renovation budget in energy-saving improvements for your existing home, you can apply for an energy loan with top-value interest rate. You can apply using Mobile or Touch and borrow up to 50 000 euros for a maximum term of 10 years. If you would like to borrow more, please contact your KBCbranch. In addition, an energy loan doesn’t require you to pay any notarial fees, which is ideal if you’re considering improvements such as solar panels, a heat pump or a home battery.

Discounts for energy-efficient homes

In addition to the Flemish renovation loan and the KBC Energy Loan, you can also get an additional discount on the interest rate of your new mortgage loan with KBC. You can get it right away when purchasing an energy-efficient property. You can also make improvements to your home’s energy efficiency within seven years, which will net you a discount on your interest rate if your renovations improve your home's EPC rating.

You can also combine the options listed above. For example, you can get an interest subsidy on your renovation loan as well as a discount on the interest rate for your mortgage loan, and you can also apply for various grants. If you don't qualify for an energy loan, you can apply for a renovation loan instead.

The energy market is going through a transition – Europe is aiming to be fully climate neutral by 2050. As a bank, we play an important role in achieving this objective. For instance, we are refining our approach to responsible investing and helping our customers by providing them with insights into how they can save on energy. Moreover, as a bank-insurer, we offer cheaper loans to finance energy-efficient investments, which can then be covered under our home insurance policy.
