Travel insurance

Insurance for a single trip is temporary cover you take out for the specific duration of that trip and for which you pay a one-off premium.

Insurance for all your travel is renewed each year and you pay an annual premium to cover all your travel insurance needs. This type of insurance can be cancelled any time if you no longer need it.

Scroll down through and read all the information carefully. Once you reach the bottom, you can say that you've done so by tapping 'Confirm'.

Tap Offer > KBC products > Insurance > Travel insurance.

  • Open KBC Mobile and log in
  • Tap ‘My KBC’ and go to ‘Insurance’
  • Tap your travel insurance to file a new claim

Adding a child to your family situation view

Only children of up to 18 years of age who are resident in Belgium can be added.

No. Once registered, children become customers with us.

It takes two banking days for them to be added to your family situation view. Parents are informed by e-mail when this has been done. We’ll also e-mail you if we need more information from you or are unable to register your child.

Accident insurance

Personal accident insurance covers you, your partner and your children against the financial consequences of an accident.

Accidents like falls while cycling or skiing or serious burns while barbecuing aren’t always fully covered by your health insurance fund or hospitalisation insurance when it comes to reimbursing your medical expenses (for example, the cost of physiotherapy). Our personal accident insurance does cover such expenses for up to five years after your accident. It also provides financial support for your loved ones if you become permanently physically disabled or die. That could be for things such as buying a wheelchair, modifying your home (like installing a lift), adapting your car, purchasing an assistance dog, or covering other investments and costs after the accident.

Tap Offer > KBC products > Insurance > Apply for accident insurance.

  • OpenKBC Mobile and log in
  • Tap ‘My KBC’ and go to ‘Insurance’
  • Tap your accident insurance to file a new claim

KBC Mobile makes it easy to track your claims and send us any details we still need from you.

Family insurance

Family insurance isn't obligatory in Belgium, yet nearly all Belgians have taken it out. You really can't do without it, even if you're single or you don't have any children. Minor accidents can have major consequences. Family insurance covers you in such situations.

Family insurance essentially covers loss, damage or injury you cause to other individuals and to other people's animals, and any loss, damage or injury you suffer due to the actions of someone else. Of course, there are exclusions, including loss, damage or injury you – as an adult – cause due to gross misconduct (including vandalism) and any loss, damage or injury you cause to yourself or a family member.

Tap Offer > KBC products > Insurance > Family insurance.

  • Open KBC Mobile and log in
  • Tap ‘My KBC’ and go to ‘Insurance’
  • Tap your family insurance to file a new claim

KBC Mobile makes it easy to track your claims and send us any details we still need from you.

Hospitalisation insurance

Get in touch with your bank branch, your insurance agent, or KBC Live.

  • Open KBC Mobile and log in
  • Tap ‘My KBC’ and go to ‘Insurance’
  • Tap your hospitalisation insurance to file a new claim

If you can't find your hospitalisation insurance listed with your other insurance products, the primary insured probably didn't give you permission to see it. Ask them to do this for you.

You can file a hospitalisation claim by doing the following:

  • Open KBC Mobile and log in
  • Tap ‘My KBC’ and go to ‘Your contacts'
  • Tap ‘All contacts’
  • Tap ‘File or track a damage or hospitalisation claim’ under 'Other useful services'
  • Open KBC Mobile and log in
  • Tap ‘My KBC’ and go to ‘Insurance’
  • Tap your hospitalisation insurance
  • Tap the claim requiring your AssurCard number
  • Tap ‘What to do at the hospital’

Pay all medical expenses relating to your admission and incurred during the pre- and post-treatment period specified in your insurance conditions. Be sure to keep all of your receipts for such expenses.

Send these receipts (preferably all together) to KBC Insurance, Hospitalisation Claims Settlement department, R. Van Overstraetenplein 2, 3000 Leuven or by e-mail to schade@kbc.be.

Always state your claim number in the subject of your e-mail.

  • Open KBC Mobile and log in
  • Tap ‘My KBC’ and go to ‘Insurance’
  • Tap your hospitalisation insurance
  • Select the claim under which you want to submit expenses
  • Use the number at the top of your claim

Preferably use our AssurPharma service for your pharmacy expenses.

How does AssurPharma work?

  1. Once your admission is confirmed, you will receive a bar code. In KBC Mobile, you will find that bar code with your claim:
    • Open Mobile and log in
    • Tap ‘My KBC’ and go to ‘Insurance’
    • Tap your hospitalisation insurance
    • Tap the claim for which you need the bar code
    • Tap 'Reimbursement'
    • Scroll to ‘Pharmacy expenses’
  2. If you filed your claim by phone, you will find your bar code in the confirmation letter
  3. Show the barcode to your pharmacist
    • The pharmacist will scan the bar code and send the proof of purchase directly to KBC Insurance
    • You pay for your medication yourself in the pharmacy
